We read police board and council minutes, inquest recommendations, budget documents and ministry announcements, not just tender portals, and surface the signals that precede procurement.

Weekly is a publication you read. Pro watches your buyers and categories for you.
One record, identical for every subscriber.
Every subscriber reads the identical record. There is no custom feed, no privileged access, and no earlier delivery at any price.
Nothing a member does comes back into the record. Watches, saves, and searches never shape what we report and never reach another subscriber.
Because the record is identical and member activity never feeds it, a subscription reveals nothing about your pipeline to us or to anyone else.
Usage is reviewed in aggregate only, never individually, except as needed to operate your account (for example, resolving a support issue).
Questions we are asked
What is Signal North?
The intelligence network for public safety and defence procurement in Canada. We map the public record: tenders, awards, budgets, board and council decisions, and vendor activity, so anyone who buys or sells in this sector can see the market in one place, and can follow a single need from the first mention to the award.
Who is Signal North for?
Vendors selling into police, fire and other public safety agencies; consultancies and advisors working in the sector; and public officials who need to understand the procurement landscape. If you operate in Canadian public safety or defence, this is the network you need to be part of.
How is the annual price billed?
Annual is the headline price and monthly is available at a premium: a year costs the same as ten months, so paying annually is two months free. Enterprise is custom, priced on seats, coverage and scope.
Can I upgrade or change tiers later?
Yes. You can move up a tier at any time as your needs grow, and the change is prorated against what you have already paid.
How current is the data?
The network collects from each public source on that source's own cadence: daily for tender portals and police boards, weekly or monthly for award registers and budgets. Every item carries the date its publisher posted it, so you can see how current it is rather than take our word for it.
Where does your information come from?
Everything traces to an official public record, a government portal, a board agenda, a published budget. Every signal links back to its original publisher source, so you can verify it yourself. We report on the public record; we never rely on rumour or unverifiable claims.
How is this different from a tender-notification service?
Tender-notification services start when a solicitation is posted. By that point, the opportunity is public and every competitor sees it at the same moment.
Signal North doesn't wait for a solicitation to appear. We track the record that leads there: board discussions, budget lines, grant openings. We reconstruct it as a sourced arc, each node dated and linked to a real public document. When the record shows a need forming, you see where it has stopped and can act while it is still open.
Is Signal North neutral?
Yes, and it is core to how we operate. We report on the market; we never participate in it. The same intelligence is available to every member on equal terms. We do not represent vendors, we do not broker deals, and no one can pay to influence what the network shows.
Do you cover my region, agency or category?
Our coverage runs deep in Ontario public safety and federal defence, with the gaps named on our coverage page. Enterprise members can request custom coverage for specific agencies, regions or categories. If you are unsure whether we cover what you need, ask us, we will tell you honestly what is in the network today.
Do I need a long-term commitment?
Signal North Weekly and Pro are annual memberships, and monthly is available at a premium. Enterprise terms are set as part of your custom agreement.
How do I get started?
Signal North Free gives you the free edition of the brief at no cost, from its first live send, so you can see the network before committing. When you are ready for the full picture, choose Signal North Weekly or Pro, or request an Enterprise quote for your team.
